NEW YORK (AP) -- A third firefighter has been suspended without pay for his role in a sexual romp inside a Bronx firehouse, Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scopetta announced Wednesday.
Anthony Loscuito, 27, of Engine 75, was interviewed by the city Department of Investigation before his suspension, Scoppetta said in a news release. No other details were released.
Scoppetta also announced that the department has initiated termination proceedings against Firefighter Christian Waugh, of Ladder 33, for failing to cooperate with investigators looking into allegations that he and others had sex with a woman inside their Bronx firehouse last week.
Waugh, 30, and Tony Delucca, 34, were suspended Friday after a Staten Island woman alleged that she had been raped by several firefighters inside the firehouse. She later recanted her story, saying the sex was consensual, and then returned to her original account that she had been raped.
Twelve firefighters who were working during the incident were reassigned to administrative duties. Officials have said the woman may have met one of the firefighters on the Internet.
The growing sex scandal at the Bronx firehouse is the latest in a string of embarrassing incidents at the fired department, including dozens of arrests of firefighters on drunk driving charges this year and a drunken New Year's Eve brawl in a Staten Island firehouse that left one firefighter with severe facial injuries.
