Fremont fire officials on Sunday continued to sift for clues into an apartment fire Saturday night that left at least 16 neighboring units without power.
No major injuries were reported in the 11:13 p.m. blaze at the Sequoia apartments on Paseo Padre Parkway, but one woman was treated for smoke inhalation and a firefighter suffered a minor facial burn, Fremont fire battalion chief Rich Dickinson said.
The fire originated in a second-story unit and quickly spread into the attic, affecting the electrical supply to nearby apartments and, as a result, displacing an unknown number of tenants, Dickinson said.
No one was inside the original unit at the time of the fire.
The fire, which was contained about 15 minutes later, caused an estimated $310,000 in structural and property damage.
Dickinson said it was not immediately known when power was expected to return to the affected units.
