Alabama Man Set on Fire in Dispute Over Money

Dothan police arrested a man and charged him with first-degree assault after he allegedly set a co-worker on fire following a dispute over money.

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- Dothan police arrested a man and charged him with first-degree assault after he allegedly set a co-worker on fire following a dispute over money.

Cutedious Jamar Bonds, 28, of Dothan surrendered to police on Tuesday and is being held in the Houston County Jail with bail set at $10,000.

Lt. Roy Woodham said Bonds allegedly threw a gasoline container through the window of the pick up truck R.L. Patterson was driving and lit it with a match on Aug. 9.

He said Patterson was driving Bonds home from work the day of the incident.

``They are in the tree cutting business,'' Woodham said. ``There was a little gas container nearby.''

Patterson was hospitalized with burns to his upper body and arms.
