LINTON, Ind. (AP) -- A fire that destroyed a tire business and warehouse and damaged a public library in this southern Indiana town was deliberately set, officials said.

The fire leveled Petro Tire Co. and an adjacent tire storage warehouse containing more than 1,000 tires.

Linton Fire Chief Lonnie Eberhardt said Tuesday the fire has been ruled an arson by the Indiana State Fire Marshal's office. The fire appears to have been started in or around a trash bin behind the warehouse, he said.

Additional details about the fire were not released by officials.
