SHAKOPEE, Minn. (AP) -- A 3-year-old girl and her father were treated for smoke inhalation after being rescued from a burning mobile home near Shakopee, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Tuesday in a mobile home park. The father had run back inside to rescue the girl in a back bedroom when he apparently was overcome by smoke, authorities said.

A police officer who had just arrived pulled the father and his daughter out.

``Another five minutes we would have probably have been looking for two bodies, without a doubt,'' Shakopee Fire Chief Terry Stang told WCCO-AM of Minneapolis.

The girl was being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for smoke inhalation. Her condition wasn't known Wednesday.

``She was crying and coughing, so that's a good sign,'' Stang said.

The father also was treated for smoke inhalation. Names of the girl and her father were not released.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
