There is a four alarm fire at an auto body shop in Yonkers. The shop is located at 147 School Street.
The building's roof has now collapsed, and firefighters are continuing to battle the blaze.
The fire quickly rose to a 4-alarm emergency within a half hour of the initial call. Fire departments from the surrounding counties have been called to help fight the fire.
It began at about 4:00, but at about 4:45 it really took hold of the building, requiring firefighters to retreat from the roof. Firefighters are now preceeding with an external attack on the blaze.
This is apparently an up-scale body shop, catering to owners of expensive automobiles.
