Kentucky Firefighter Severly Injured Cleaning Up Storm Debris

25-year old Michael Griffith suffered a cracked pelvis, several broken ribs and a punctured lung.
A Lawrence County Volunteer Firefighter was seriously injured Tuesday while cleaning up storm debris.

The Daily Independent reports that 25-year old Michael Griffith with the Webbville Volunteer Fire Department was crushed by a tree that had fallen across Bishop Knob.

He was taken by helicopter to the Cabell Huntington Hospital.

He suffered a cracked pelvis, several broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The injury is the first in the department's 20 year history.
