Starting March 29th 2003, the Cincinnati Fire Department will begin celebrating its 150th Anniversary, which will occur on April 1st 2003. The main of event of the celebration is a banquet that is scheduled for March 29th beginning at 6:30 PM and ending at 12:00 AM. The banquet will be held at The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, 1301 Western Ave.
At this event past and present Cincinnati Firefighters will be the honored guests. Many dignitaries and other supporters of the Cincinnati Fire Department will be in attendance. The Cincinnati Fire Department is proud to be recognized as the first full-time paid professional fire department in our nation, and is proud of its 150 years of outstanding public service.
At 9:00 PM, a brief presentation program will begin. The scheduled speakers are as follows: Mayor Charlie Luken, Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell, State Senator Mark Mallory, State Representative Catherine Barrett, Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune, Local 48 President Joseph Diebold, City Manager Valerie Lemmie, and Fire Chief Robert Wright. Mr. Nick Clooney is serving as Master of Ceremonies.
