Jan. 30--STILLWATER, Okla. -- A pump, motor and flammable liquids caught fire Sunday morning at Armstrong World Industries flooring plant, according to Stillwater Fire Department reports.
Firefighters went to the plant at 4115 N. Perkins Road to check on a fire alarm at 8:49 a.m. They noticed hazy smoke with a strange odor near the west side of the plant, according to a fire run report.
One firefighter found flames by ovens. They attacked the fire with a carbon dioxide and dry chemical extinguisher. Firefighters also used a foam to attack the blaze. Firefighters were on scene for about three hours.
"It was not clear from his report exactly what machine was on fire and how it will affect the plant's productivity," Battalion Chief Eric Seeliger wrote in a release.
An estimate dollar amount on losses will be determined.
Armstrong officials were not immediately available for comment Monday morning.
