Suburban firefighters Monday morning rescued several children from the top floor of an extra-alarm fire in a three-story building in west suburban Broadview, authorities said.
None of the children were reported injured.
Fire crews from four suburbs responded to the 2-11 alarm fire in the 2100 block of West 16th Street, authorities said.
Fire crews rescued numerous children from the third floor of the structure, Broadview Fire Chief
Thomas Gaertner said at the scene.
The fire was eventually extinguished, but firefighters remained at the scene trying to determine the fire's cause, officials said.
