Delaware Medic Injured in Fall From Highway Bridge

The medic plunged 50 feet onto a creek bridge while trying to jump across a barrier.

A Delaware medic was injured early Monday in a fall from a gap in a barrier on a bridge.

The medic was trying to jump over the divide on the Delaware Bridge to reach crash victims when he fell 50 feet onto the creek bed below, according to WPVI.com.

Police told reporters he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

This incident comes one year and two days after a Virginia medic was killed in a similiar plunge.

Joshua Weissman, a paramedic with the Alexandria Fire Department, died last February after falling from a highway onto a creek bed.
