A small fire department in Southern Oregon is mourning the death of its chief after he collapsed and died at the fire station earlier this month.
The U.S. Fire Administration on Wednesday announced the line-of-duty death of Chief Glenn Harman with Rocky Point Fire & EMS, which is headquartered in Klamath Falls in Klamath County.
Harman had been at the station reviewing reports when he was found dead at his computer on the morning of Oct. 16. The 64-year-old had dedicated 48 years to the fire service, including the previous four as Rocky Point's chief.
“He’s always been there to help everybody,” Harman’s brother Gary Babcock told the Herald and News. “He was a good influence and an outgoing person. People were attracted to him.”
