Large Area Search Techniques: Commercial buildings present the greatest challenges to our firefighters these days. With storage racks and high hazards in warehouses, and showroom floors, we need to be prepared to enter these structures. This hands on class is designed to cover the basics of large area searches, the use of search bags, and most importantly search techniques. Note (this class is a very physically challenging class).

Truck Company Operations: Getting to the roof can be a lost art in the truck company world. With a realistic roof simulator, we will cover different type of roof constructions, tools that need to go to the roof, and different techniques of “opening up”. You will use different types of chain saws as well as rotary saws. You will work in teams on the roof and make ventilation holes to supplement the engine company.

R.I.T Tactics: We bust ours for others, but who saves ours? Here we will practice real world R.I.T techniques for saving our brothers & sisters. We will discuss some case studies, practice firefighter drags & carries, as well as techniques for breaching walls. You will use R.I.T packs and discuss the rules of buddy breathing as well as transferring of air. Note (this class is a very physically challenging class).

Thermal Imaging: The use of thermal imagers on the fire ground is often unused. This class is taught by some of the best thermal imaging instructors in the U.S. This class will fill a structure will smoke and discuss the many ways of using thermal imagers. What to look for when you look at the screen, and ways that you can implement them into your search tactics.
