Two NY Firefighters Hospitalized after Battling House Blaze

Crews from four departments—Eggertsville, Snyder, Williamsville and North Bailey Fire Company—responded to the call in Amherst and quickly had the residential fire under control.

Two New York firefighters and a civilian were injured during a residential blaze that had crews from multiple departments responding to late Wednesday.

The fire started at about 8 p.m. at a house in Amherst, WGRZ-TV reports. Crews from four departments—Eggertsville, Snyder, Williamsville and North Bailey Fire Company—quickly had the fire under control in around a half hour.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital, but details involving the cause and nature of their injuries, as well as their departments, were not released. A civilian also was taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries.

The fire caused around $145,000 in damages to the house, as well as $1,500 to a neighboring garage.
