Texas firefighters rescued a man from a burning motel room Saturday.
Wichita Falls crews were called to a fire at the Royal Inn at about 1 p.m., KFDX-TV reports. Once at the motel, they encountered smoke coming from a room, and flames coming from a dumpster at the end of the building.
Firefighters discovered a man inside the burning room and pulled him from the flames. The man was treated at the scene until an ambulance arrived, and he then was taken to the hospital with severe burns and smoke inhalation.
An initial investigation determined that the fire began near the bed in the motel. The fire caused around $22,000 in damage, according to KFDX.
