Critically Injured LA Man Rescued from House Fire

Shreveport firefighters saved a 50-year-old man from a residential fire and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition after crews were initially told that the house was vacant.

Louisiana firefighters rescued a seriously injured man from a burning house early Wednesday.

Shreveport firefighters responded to a residential fire at about 6:45 a.m., KSLA-TV reports. Initially, crews were told that the house was vacant, but a search found someone still inside.

The 50-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. It wasn't clear if anyone else was still in the house.

Firefighters needed about 20 minutes to put out the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
