A memorial service has been set for two Bureau of Land Management (BLM) firefighters killed in a crash in Nevada returning from an assignment.

Killed were Jacob O'Malley, 27, and Will Hawkins, 22, while another firefighter, Zachery McElroy, 23, was released Tuesday after receiving treatment.

The crash remains under investigation. A tire failure is suspected.

The joint memorial service will be held from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Winnemucca Events Complex.

“Everyone is invited to attend the Winnemucca services on Tuesday to honor Jacob and Will - two brave, hardworking firefighters who were dearly loved by their families and coworkers,” BLM Nevada State Director John Ruhs said in a statement.
