OneDose unveiled OneDose Credentials, a method for maintaining credentials that allows each supplier to upload a certification by snapping a photo of it. OneDose Premium comes with it at no extra cost.

An administrator uploads a document to the OneDose Admin Console, or a provider takes a picture of a certificate via the OneDose mobile app. The provider's name, the credential type, the issue date, and the expiration date are extracted from the text and compared to the credential categories that the agency has set up. OneDose then returns a pre-populated record for review. A document with multiple credentials is divided into separate records, and multiple documents can be scanned simultaneously.

When the algorithm is unable to match a field with confidence, it asks the user to select from the agency's list and leaves the field blank instead of speculating. Before being filed, each scanned credential is verified by a human.

An agency receives one register from the Admin Console for each credential that its employees own. An analytics view wraps up the roster into what is active, expiring, expired, unverified, or missing a document—the questions an inspector actually asks. Each entry includes the source document, issue and expiration dates, verification status and a full change history. The agency's own credential types are defined by administrators in EMS, medical, fire, specialty, competency and custom categories, including locally defined specialty credentials. The complete register can be exported at any time.

On their own phones, crew members receive their own credentials. On the OneDose home screen, a credentials tile displays. Providers can add credentials manually, by scanning them, or by uploading an image. Another picture that changes the dates and the paper together is called renewal. Credentials never compete for attention on a scene because the tile automatically disappears during a patient engagement and reappears when it concludes. Reminders are sent to providers on a regular basis starting ninety days prior to the expiration of a credential.

According to state regulations, EMS organizations must maintain up-to-date credential records for each individual who operates a vehicle. For instance, Pennsylvania mandates that a personnel roster with certification numbers and expiration dates be kept on file and always accessible for inspection. Agencies use a variety of methods to satisfy this requirement, such as spreadsheets or software that necessitates the entry of each certificate by an administrator. In any case, all of the roster's credentials end up on one person's desk.

"Every credential in EMS starts as a piece of paper in somebody's hand, and somewhere down the line a person retypes it into a system. We decided the software should just read it. What used to be an administrator's afternoon is now a few seconds on a phone," said Colton Hazlett, co-founder and chief technology officer at OneDose.

OneDose Premium agencies can now obtain OneDose Credentials at no extra cost. Before scanning will match credential types, an agency administrator must first configure them. The credentials tile will then appear on the OneDose app's home screen for users.
