Honolulu, HI, Gets Two Heavy Rescues

Nov. 25, 2016

Home to more than 880,000 residents and over four million annual visitors, the Honolulu Fire Department protects the city with a force of over 1,100 firefighters. Adding to their fleet, the department recently took delivery of twin SVI HazMat units. The identical trucks feature 20’ aluminum bodies mounted on Spartan Gladiator ELFD chassis with a 20-inch raised roof and are powered by the Cummins ISX15 550 hp engine. The rear walk-up stairs lead to the 5 rooftop storage compartments and access to the Onan diesel generator. These trucks are equipped with OnScene Solutions LED compartment lighting, Slide Master cargo slides, ROM roll-up doors, Weldon Vista IV Touchscreen displays and a Whelen LED lighting package.
