The Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, Bluemont, Loudon County, VA, has taken delivery of a 2017 Smeal pumper built on a Spartan Metro Star cab and chassis with four wheel drive.It's built on a Metro Star, four-door, six-occupant, climate controlled cab and chassis with an Advance Protection System. It is powered by a Cummins ISL 9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. It's equipped with a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump and a 750-gallon UPF Poly Tank III and a Waterous Eclipse CAFS system with a 30-gallon foam tank. It also has a FoamPro 2002 foam system, Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, Federal Signal Q2B siren, Whelen warning and scene lights and Hannay electric cord reels.
