Berkeley Heights, NJ, Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2018 Pierce 4x4 pumper built on an Freightliner M2-106 chassis, with four door crew cab. It is powered by a Cummins L9, 350-hp engine and Allison 3000 EVS five speed transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous single-stage 1,000-gpm pto pump with a 500-gallon water tank. Other features include a fixed, front-mounted Warn winch with a 16,500-pound capacity, a 19-inch extended front bumper, an Akron monitor, Whelen warning systems, and adjustable shelves.
