Eddystone Fire Department, in Delaware County, PA, has bought a 2019 Pierce Saber pumper. It is built on a Pierce Saber cab and chassis with seating for six in a climate-controlled cab with H.O. Bostrom Firefighter seats, a raise roof and full-height rear doors. It is powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine and a 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 1,750-gpm single-stage pump, a 750-gallon UPF Poly III tank, and a Trident air prime system. Other features include Gortite roll-up doors, Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, an Akron Brass Mercury portable deluge gun, a Whelen electronic siren and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
