The application period for FEMA's Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grants for fiscal year 2020 is now open.
FEMA will be accepting applications until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12.
SAFER grants were created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase the number of trained frontline firefighters available in their communities. FEMA has allocated $355 million for SAFER grants this year.
