Former Ohio Firefighter Indicted on Arson Charges

Authorities believed he planned to set more blazes.

NEW CARLISLE, Ohio --

A former New Carlisle firefighter accused of setting fires while on duty was indicted on arson charges.

Brian Doak, 32, was charged with arson and aggravated arson. Investigators said a 16-year-old boy was also indicted on similar charges.

Doak is accused of setting two buildings on fire while he was employed by the New Carlisle Fire Department.

According to investigators, Doak and the teen were first to respond to the fires.

Doak was fired from the department for an unrelated incident. Investigators said they believe that he was planning to set more fires out of retaliation.
