GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas --

A man in Grand Prairie jumped to safety after a fire swept through his apartment complex on Sunday morning.

The fire broke out in the Barrington Apartments on Great Southwest Parkway at about 7 a.m.

Flames blocked off the man's front door, forcing him to jump out of a second-story window.

He broke both of his ankles but is expected to recover.

It was not immediately known what sparked the blaze.
