A fire damaged at least eight units of an East Side apartment complex on Tuesday night, forcing several residents to find someplace else to spend the night.
The fire was reported shortly before 10 p.m. at the Center Park Apartments in the 3100 block of East Commerce.
The fire destroyed three units of the building and damaged five others.
Only three of the units were occupied.
Firefighters said they were worried the fast-moving fire would spread to the entire building.
"They made a very aggressive entry or attack and were able to hold the fire to the three units involved. They called a second alarm as a precaution because they thought the fire was in the attic," said Bob Ebner, of the San Antonio Fire Department.
Damage was estimated at $60,000.
