CINCINNATI --

One firefighter suffered minor injuries in a fire at an Over-the-Rhine building early Friday morning.

Fire companies responded to a report of a building fire at 1636 Main Street just after 3:30 a.m. Upon arriving, fire crews found heavy fire on the second, third and fourth floors of a vacant four-story apartment building.

Firefighters hit the fire from outside the building and brought the bulk of the fire under control in about 30 minutes, then went inside to knock down hot spots.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

The fire cause is listed as undetermined and is being investigated by the Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit.

There were no civilians injured, but one firefighter suffered minor injuries when his legs went through a hole in the fourth floor.
