Feb. 19--KANE -- A McKean County residence had to be demolished after a fully loaded log truck crashed through it Saturday.

State police at Kane said the truck, driven by Thomas L. Jashurek, 39, of Kane, was southbound on Route 66 near Old Mill Road in Wetmore Township when it went off the road for an unknown reason Saturday about 9:30 a.m.

The truck struck a utility pole, a parked car and the front porch of one residence before stopping inside a second residence, police said.

Police said four people were inside that two-story structure owned by Bruce Peterson and had to be rescued by Kane volunteer firefighters. Two of the four were taken to Kane Community Hospital and released after treatment for minor injuries, police said.

Jashurek suffered a moderate injury, police said.

The Peterson residence had to be demolished to retrieve the truck, police said.
