Chicago firefighters battled a large fire on the roof and top floor of a three-story building Tuesday afternoon.
The building, which is listed on the city's historical survey, was recently renovated into six condos units.
Explosions could be heard at the scene, hurling debris into the air, according to Block Club Chicago.
Firefighters deployed an aerial ladder and deployed a handline up the ladder to gain access to the fire.
Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control within an hour after it caused heavy damage to the upper floor and roof of the building.
