Johnstown, PA, Fire Dept. Puts Custom Rescue Engine in Service

The members of the Johnstown, PA, Fire Department recently took delivery of a custom Sutphen pumper built on a Sutphen Monarch cab and chassis. The pumper is powered by a Cummins ISL 9 engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 2,000-gpm pump, a 750-gallon tank, a 50-gallon foam cell and a FoamPro 2002 foam system. it also has two 1.75-inch preconnects with 150 feet of hose and two 1.75-inch 200-foot preconnect lines. It also has two Blitz Fire monitors preconnected with 3-inch hose, one off the front bumper and one off the front bumper with 100-feet of hose. Other equipment includes a 15,000-watt Onan generator, a 6,000-watt Will-Burt light tower, Genesis rescue tools, and a Vulcan electric monitor.
