Issue Description:

The September 2026 Firehouse Magazine has a reflection on the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, and includes articles on topics such as innovations in rope rescue technology, single-person forcible entry and a Firehouse product review.

Cover Description: While companies of the New Haven, CT, Fire Department were in the midst of shift change, a box alarm was transmitted for a private dwelling fire. Engine 10 arrived to find heavy fire out of the first floor windows. Quickly, the fire extended to the upper floors. Despite companies being hampered by holes in the floor and compromised stairs, multiple interior lines were stretched to all of the floors. Firefighters weren’t able to suppress the fully involved attic, so all interior crews were pulled from the dwelling in favor of an exterior attack.

Dedication: Five U.S. firefighters recently died in the line of duty— Firefighter/Paramedic John D. Morgan, Chief Harold Osborn, Lt. Isai Huerta, Assistant Chief Wayne Woodbury and Fire Chief Charles Woodward. This issue of Firehouse is dedicated to these firefighters.
